I ordered 3 of these collars. I followed the instructions to open the collar (pulling it apart where the safety release is). One end of the collar broke away from the safety release rendering the collar useless. These collars do not break away. This means that the cat can easily get caught and choke, not a good thing. I did not realize this when I purchased some of them. Calling them "safety" callars is not a wise thing. I can't use them.
