I've never had a problem with breakage or leaking, and the birds love them. I own ten of them and in the summer have at least four up at any one time. They are easier to clean than most, since you can pop the base apart to scrub inside if needed. They are lightweight and durable. The "BigBox" retailer near me has stopped carrying them in favor of a similar-looking feeder which has a one-piece base that's almost impossible to clean.
