So far so good...

I bought this for my dog (Husband, really) for Christmas 05' because he had just gotten a new car and was horrified at the thought of the dog on his new seats on vet/groomer visits.
We've yet to need to take her to the vet since we've had it, (THANK GOD) and so this is our first results with just a trial assembly in the car. Even just knowing we have it makes us feel reassured...
1. It fits well around the front seats backrests and its very snug and secure. The pockets for the leash, and treats, etc. are extremely handy and arent necessarily easy for the dog to get into so she can sneak a treat. Also it came with a water bottle and a nice little pocket for it, which is a plus for us.
2. The material did indeed feel waterproof, or in our case, puke proof as our dog sometimes gets upset on the highways.
3. Its design is tight fitting so that it would be impossible for her to sneak up inbetween the driver and passenger seats and keep her in her still and safe in case of a fast stop or minor accident. (Main reason I got this)
4. The only problem we have/are figuring out, is how to properly secure it over the back of our back seats. We do not have head rests to secure it over like in the front, but were still trying to work with the seats belt straps that are said to help keep it in place.
5. Last but not least.. While it was wide enough for my dog, it just barely doesnt fit the entire backseat from door to door, but the shape once properly positioned kind of has a lip on each side to keep drool, water, or ... other gross stuff from spilling on a turn and keep the dog from slipping out of the sides.
I would MOST definitely recommend this to anyone with a large dog and a car because I just cannot see this fitting a van safely. Possibly it could work in the back seats of 2 and 4 door trucks. |
