Some inexpensive entertainment

| I love this little fish bowl. I have had no problems with the size or quality of the bowl. When I clean the bowl. I gently remove it from the base. Use both hands. Take it to the sink, do not pour the water out of the bowl. Leave the betta in the bowl, just be gentle and slow with your movements. I use a turkey baster and suck the yuck and food that has settled to the bottom of the bowl. I clean the bowl every 7 to 14 days so there is not much junk in the bowl to suck out. Take your time and move your baster around the bottom and squirt it out in the sink with each fill of fish water. My Charley Brown doesn't mind at all having his home cleaned if you take it slow and gentle and don't disturb him. After about half the bowl of fish water has been removed take a paper towel and run it around the inside of the bowl and remove any residue that may have built up on the inside of the bowl. I use spring water that I pick up at walmart in the gallon jugs. VERY SLOWLY, pour and fill the bowl back up to the top, I leave about an inch of space at the top. The fish does better if you leave some of his old water in his bowl. The fish gets stressed if only all fresh water is used to replace his water. Replace the bowl back in its base using both hands gently. I can't emphasize enough, show and gently, when doing this job. Your betta will love you for it. If you are having a lot of junk in your bowl, you are feeding too much. I only give 2 little pellets every other day. Don't seem like much but its plenty. And the betta is fine without a heater for the bowl. Unless in the winter you sit him outside on the patio. Now that would not be good. Keep your baster only for your betta bowl. Don't want turkey in your betta bowl. My Charlie is thriving so I must be doing something right. If you don't have much space you will love this. Make the cat keep her paws to herself. |
