Unlike the big puffy pillow types of dog beds, this bed doesn't have a lot of cushioning in the center part of the bed. It is soft and comfortable--like laying on a rug--but it is not like laying on a pillow, which is a little challenging for some dogs. My large (110 pounds) dog loves the bed. So do the smaller dogs in the house, and the cat. They all seem to congregate around the bed. At times, there are 2 or 3 of them trying to claim their own area of the bed.
